Michael and Bryan are 21 & 18 and although they are fun loving boys and well cared for in their environment they both have a rare form of Cerebral Palsy.
They were born with major genetic handicaps. After playing 18 holes, a golfers handicap is left on the course; Michael and Bryan always carry theirs with them. But Michael and Bryan enjoy seeing people and having fun at their golf tournament and fun is the main goal of the Michael-Bryan Open Golf Tournament.
The second goal is that the family is committed to raising awareness of the plight of all people who are challenged physically, mentally, spiritually ,emotionally and intellectually.
Thirdly we would like to raise as much money as we can because the cost of caring for the boys is nothing less than exorbitant, to help to purchase equipment or assistance not provide by our tax dollars.
The “Open” is an opportunity to celebrate the lives of Michael and Bryan and in turn reflect on the many gifts and handicaps, which have been given to all of us.
So this tournament is not just about what we are doing for Michael and Bryan but what they are doing for us.
